About This Service

An opinion built on years of hands-on experience

Over the past decade I have traveled through every province of Thailand, attended local markets, met collectors across the country, and personally handled banknotes across every series, condition grade, and rarity tier. I have been a regular participant at Eur-Seree Auction in Bangkok — one of the most important venues for Thai numismatics.

When you need to know what a note is genuinely worth — before you sell, before you buy — you need someone who has held comparable examples in person and understands the nuances that catalogues never capture: original paper quality, subtle restoration, regional scarcity, and real market demand.

Selling a note

Not sure what price to set? An honest appraisal protects you from undervaluing a rare piece — or losing a buyer with an unrealistic ask.

Buying a note

Found something interesting but unsure whether the price is fair? Send the photos before you commit. Expert eyes before the purchase.

Assessing condition

Condition determines everything in numismatics. I examine paper quality, edge integrity, fold patterns, and signs of restoration.

Identifying a note

Not sure which series, type, or variant you’re looking at? I can help identify and place any Thai banknote in its correct catalogue context.

Photography Requirements

How to photograph your note

Accurate appraisal depends entirely on image quality. Please provide all of the following shots before submitting your request.

Front face — full view

Flat, straight, high resolution. No cropping, no angle, even lighting.

Reverse face — full view

Same conditions as the front. Both sides at equal quality.

All four corners

Close-up shots of each corner individually. Corner condition is a primary grade indicator.

Backlit in a dark room

Place the note in a dark room and hold a torch or phone light behind it. Essential for checking paper and possible restoration.

Why the backlit photograph matters. The dark-room backlight shot is the single most revealing image. It allows me to examine paper consistency, detect washing or pressing, identify repairs or infills, and read the watermark clearly. Without it, a full assessment of condition and authenticity is not possible.
